Quality Engineering Management is designed to develop professional engineers/managers capable of working in a broad range of companies and industries at a managerial level. It provides training and expertise in the key areas of quality engineering management, product development for quality, simulation, operations management and advanced manufacturing systems.
The course has an excellent track record of employability both within the UK and abroad. The course is suitable for engineers, scientists or managers with responsibility for design, manufacture and quality improvement.
The individual project is a major element of the course and involves a wider spectrum of multidisciplinary research in design, manufacturing systems, quality management and IT, with due regard to the efficient exploitation of the technology, materials and marketing resources of industrial firms. Students are encouraged to work on industrial-based projects.
The field of quality engineering management is recognised as a skills shortage area. Such skills are critical to the industrial and economic growth of industries both in the Western world and in developing nations.
Graduates from this course can expect to enhance their technological and management skills, which will improve their prospects in such roles as quality manager, product development manager, operations manager or research engineer.
